Bankwest is an Australian challenger bank offering three savings accounts with distinct target audiences. The Hero Saver is the flagship product, paying a competitive bonus rate when your account balance grows month over month — there's no minimum deposit amount specified, any net growth in the calendar month (excluding interest) qualifies, and Bankwest limits customers to one Hero Saver account each. The Easy Saver account is available to customers aged 16 and over, with an introductory rate and an ongoing rate made up of a base rate and a bonus rate, though bonus rates are offered selectively and conditions apply. The Retirement Advantage Account is restricted to customers aged 55 and over and pays a modest rate.

Deposits with Bankwest are protected under the Financial Claims Scheme up to $250,000 per account holder per ADI.

Your closing balance for the month (excluding interest) must be higher than your closing balance at the end of the previous month. There is no minimum deposit amount, but any net outflow during the month forfeits the bonus rate. One Hero Saver account per person.

The condition is based on your balance at month-end, not on individual transactions — so a withdrawal late in the month that isn't offset by a larger deposit before the month closes is the most common way to lose the bonus. Interest payments don't count as growth.
